Sell clothes online in Kenya: 6 easy steps
Sell clothes online and the photos do the selling before the words do. A clear size chart and an honest flaw note finish the job. These six steps shorten the wait.

31 October 2026 ยท 3 min readSell clothes online with daylight, a tape measure and an honest flaw note. Buyers scroll fast, so the first photo decides whether anyone reads the rest of the listing.
The steps below work for a single dress and for a wardrobe clear out. Each one reduces the questions you have to answer later.
Sell clothes online with daylight photos
Photograph on a plain wall near a window between ten and two. Daylight shows the true colour, while a bulb adds a yellow cast that makes the buyer distrust the listing.
Also clean the item before you photograph it. A wash and a light iron remove the creases that make a good piece look worn out.
Take four photos: the front, the back, the label and any flaw. Then add one photo of the garment worn or held up, because scale is the detail buyers cannot judge from a hanger.
Write a size chart that matches the tape
Measure the chest, the waist, the length and the sleeve, then write the numbers in centimetres. Ignore the label size, since a medium from one brand is a small from another.
Then note the fabric weight as well, since buyers search for a weight rather than a colour. A linen shirt listed in January sells in June.
Add one line about the fit. Loose, regular or fitted tells the buyer more than the tag ever will, and it reduces returns.
Name every mark, however small, and photograph it. A buyer who is told about a faint stain buys with confidence. A buyer who discovers it after delivery asks for a refund.
Then state whether the item was washed, altered or repaired. That history is part of the condition and part of the price.
Price against the resale market, not the label
Search the same item on three platforms and note what similar pieces actually sell for, not what they ask. The asking price is a wish, and the sold price is the market.
Deduct for missing buttons, fading and a missing receipt. A fair number plus an honest listing sells faster than a high number with a story.
Also check what the same item sold for on a resale group last month, because a platform price and a group price rarely match.
Sell clothes online in bundles to move stock
Group three or four pieces of the same size into one bundle, and price the bundle at slightly less than the sum. Bundles raise the average order and clear the slower items at the same time.
Photograph the bundle flat as one image. A buyer needs to see the whole set before reading the list.
Answer messages inside one hour
Reply while the interest is warm, even if the answer is simply that the item is available. Slow replies lose sales to the next listing, and a buyer who waits two days has usually moved on.
Keep the reply short and specific. Confirm the size, the price and the delivery option in one message.
Pack the parcel so it survives the trip
Wrap the garment in a plastic bag, then in paper or a courier bag. Fold it so the collar cannot crush, and tape the label flat. A parcel that arrives creased reads as careless, even when the item is perfect.
Therefore tape the label on two sides, since a single strip peels in the rain.
Add a small note with your shop name. Buyers remember the parcel, and that memory brings the next sale.
Finally, ask for a review after delivery. Reviews are the only asset that compounds, because they shorten the trust check for every buyer after that.
When you are ready to list, open the Twynon gallery to see how other sellers photograph items, and read how the platform works before your first post. You can also browse local services for courier options on the same day.

Selling clothes online is a short checklist, not a talent. Light the item, measure it, describe the flaws and price it against the market.
